The Indian locomotive class WCM-5 is a class of 1.5 kV DC electric locomotives that was developed in 1961 by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for Indian Railways. The WCM-5 served both passenger and freight trains for nearly 40 years. In 1998, the last WCM-5 locomotive ran with the Indrayani Express. With the introduction of more modern locomotives and 25 KV AC electrification, all were withdrawn in the early 2000s after repeated failures. After withdrawal, one locomotive was put on display at the Kolkata Rail Museum, while the rest were scrapped. Source: Wikipedia Our WCM5 Ready-to-Run motorised models are DCC-ready DC models with an 21-pin interface and directional lighting. These models are built in HO scale (1:87) and run on 16.5mm gauge tracks. The models will be equipped with Knuckle couplers. These locomotives are factory-fitted with a 21-pin DCC decoder, allowing you to enjoy a realistic and immersive Digital Command Control (DCC) experience. When paired with the PMW Wi-Fi DCC Command Station, you can operate your locomotive wirelessly using your Android or iPhone. DCC provides smooth and realistic train operation while giving you independent control over locomotive functions such as lighting, sound (on sound-equipped models) etc. Each Starter Pack includes a complete round track set, providing everything you need to start running your locomotive straight out of the box. The models are designed to run on 16.5 mm gauge tracks with a minimum radius of 20 inches/3rd radius curves. The minimum turnout/switch frog size should be #6. The model boasts many separately added fine details, and the unique Indian Railways liveries make these models special collectable items. Please note that for running on a layout WITH buffers, the min turning radius will be 26 inches, without buffers the recommended turning radius is 22 inches. Buffers will be provided unassembled in the packaging and it is for the customer to decide whether to put it on or not depending on the scenario. IMPORTANT NOTES This item is on pre-order and will be made in a small batch all together. The tentative delivery time is 5 to 6 months, however, delivery time is not guaranteed as Model Train production depends on a lots of moving parts. Minor assembly required by the customer: To protect the fine details from damage during shipping, some separately added details will be sent unassembled and will require the customer to add them to the model. These would be very minor assembly and all you would need is a pair of tweezers and some super glue. Expect 3D printing artefacts: These are 3D printed models and despite our best efforts it is impossible to avoid some print lines and 3D printing artefacts. The details parts are also expected to be fragile and are not expected to survive rough handling. These are NOT considered defects. Limited Warranty: Products have a limited warranty against manufacturing defects only. A manufacturing defect is considered a defect that severely impairs the functionality of the model and one that has gone undetected in our quality check process BEFORE the model is shipped to the customer. For such defects, we will provide a free replacement of the impaired part(s) of the model subject to the customer providing sufficient evidence against the claim.
