Italian mid century arc lamp in the style of Castiglioni, 1970s

This Italian mid-century arc lamp was produced at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. Although its designer remains unknown, its proportions and choice of materials resemble the iconic arc lamps designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and lamps by Guzzini. Overall dimensions are H: 244 / W: 167 / D: 39 cm. The lamp features a solid marble base supporting a gracefully curved metal arm with a white acrylic shade finished with a metal rim. The balanced construction allows the light to extend over a seating or dining area while maintaining a relatively compact footprint. A distinctive feature of the lamp is its height-adjustable arm, which can be raised by 52 cm, reaching a maximum height of 296 cm, allowing the light source to be positioned according to individual needs. Lamps of this type became icons of Italian design and were frequently used in contemporary interiors or films like the 1979 thriller Bloodline, starring Audrey Hepburn, reflecting the popularity of this design during the period.
