Pair TIP142 (NPN) + TIP147 (PNP) Darlington Power Transistors

The TIP142/147 are complementary power NPN/PNP Darlington Power transistors featuring a monolithic configuration, a high DC current gain, and an integrated antiparallel collector-emitter diode. It handles up to 100V and 10A, making it ideal for high-power linear and low-frequency switching applications. In push-pull amplifier output stages, unmatched NPN/PNP pairs can cause crossover distortion, uneven current sharing, and quiescent-current drift. Hfe ~ 50, Vbe ~0.92v (TIP142) and Hfe ~43 Vbe ~ 0.89v (TIP147) @ 5mA test current. (Note : Spec sheet Hfe is >500 at 10A)
