Oxyoctaline formate - Givaudan

Oxyoctaline Formate, despite the nondescript name, is a very interesting woody amber molecule, different from the wide selection of others out there and in our opinion worth having in the perfumery palette. It's dry, dusty, resinous and slightly wet (which is interesting given a slight structural similarity to Geosmin). It doesn't have the rasping and overpowering superamber note that some despise. It's often used as a blender, creating space in woody accords.
