CDR 2024

CDR 2024 is Thibaud Capellaro's new interpretation of a Côtes du Rhône. Behind this deliberately minimalist name lies a wine that focuses on the essentials: allowing the terroir, the vintage, and young vines with a promising future to express themselves. Planted in 2021 on clay-limestone soils, these vines already yield fruit of great precision. The predominant Syrah brings its freshness, violet notes, and spicy character, while Grenache complements the whole with a luscious body and a perfectly controlled roundness. The winemaking reflects Thibaud Capellaro's approach. For ten days, Syrah and Grenache macerate together, the former as whole clusters, the latter destemmed. This co-maceration creates a natural harmony between the grape varieties, where structure, fruit, and aromatics seem to emerge from a single movement. After ten months of aging in barrels and demi-muids, the wine retains all its energy. The palate is juicy, slender, and profoundly digestible, supported by fine tannins and a freshness that extends the finish. A contemporary, precise, and vibrant Côtes du Rhône, which favors balance over ostentation and accurately announces the potential of these young vines.
