Plant-Dyed Rustic Cotton Caladium Mini Potted Plant | Handmade Fabric Plant | Green by Default Plant-dyed rustic cotton has been one of my favorite materials to work with for a long time. You may have already seen it in some of my frogs and other little handmade pieces. To me, these old fabrics feel like gifts from time. Every piece has its own color, texture, fading and little traces of age, and many of these shades can never be recreated once the fabric is gone. Some pieces are surprisingly vivid, and one day I looked at them and thought they would be perfect for making plants. It felt especially fitting because the colors themselves originally came from plants too. And that’s how this tiny caladium came along. Product Details Each leaf is made from two layers of plant-dyed rustic cotton, then shaped by hand and finished with hand-painted details to bring out the markings and color variations of caladium leaves. The leaves are arranged in a small ceramic pot, creating a miniature plant that will never lose its leaves but still keeps all the texture, irregularity and handmade character of the original fabric. I think this little plant makes a lovely gift for someone who loves plants, handmade objects, or simply small things that feel a little different. Color Note Green is the default color and will be sent unless another color is requested. If you prefer another color, feel free to leave a note with your order and I’ll do my best to choose one for you. Because I work with small pieces of old plant-dyed fabric, other colors depend on what I have available at the time and may not look exactly like the photos. If your preferred color is not available, I’ll send the green version instead. Each one will still have its own slight variations in shade, markings and texture.
