A sage green fabric, illustrated all over with a fine white rose print, gives this dress its refined, painterly character, as though a garden had been sketched directly onto the cloth. A Peter Pan collar in coordinating darker green, frames the neckline, while puffed sleeves create a timeless classic silhouette. Both are finished with a soft pink trim offering a delicate feminine note. At the waist, hand smocking traces a fine lattice pattern in pink and light sage thread upon dark green pleats. Highlighted by pink piping it bridges the bodice above with the gathered skirt below. The fabric then flows into a full, layered skirt, light enough to move freely with every twirl. Self covered buttons finish the back, and a butterfly bow sash in the same print as the collar and lined in the same soft pink ties at the waist. Botanical and refined, this dress reads like a rose garden drawn rather than grown. From the designer's heart, where imagination meets craft : Pierre Joseph Redouté spent his life drawing roses for Empress Joséphine's garden at Malmaison, recording every petal in fine, careful detail long before photography existed to remember them. This dress recalls that same spirit, its roses rendered not in full color but in white, as though sketched rather than picked, with the faintest blush of pink appearing only in details.
