Obesity in Focus: Bridging Endocrinology and Beyond was prepared with the aim of addressing obesity not merely as an excess accumulation of adipose tissue or weight gain, but as a complex chronic disease positioned at the intersection of multifaceted biological, hormonal, environmental, and behavioral mechanisms. Today, no single factor is solely responsible for the development of obesity; genetic predisposition, adipose tissue inflammation, disruption of the hormonal regulation of energy balance, the increasing use of obesity-promoting medications, exposure to environmental obesogens, dietary habits, lifestyle factors, and psychosocial influences all represent intertwined components of this process. Therefore, approaching obesity through a single perspective is often insufficient. This book aims to establish an interdisciplinary bridge by integrating an endocrinology-centered perspective with cardiometabolic diseases, hematological, oncological, and dermatological manifestations, muscle-adipose tissue interactions, the effects of obesity on respiratory and genitourinary systems, vaccination approaches in individuals with obesity, contemporary pharmacological therapies, and long-term patient follow-up. Through this work, we present a holistic approach that brings together diverse medical disciplines on a common scientific platform, recognizing obesity as not only a metabolic disorder but also a systemic disease affecting multiple organ systems. In particular, the comparative evaluation of current therapeutic options with respect to efficacy, safety, and adverse effect profiles; the discussion of the impact of environmental obesogens on daily life; and the comprehensive assessment of obesity-related short- and long-term consequences across organ systems constitute the distinctive strengths of this book. Prepared for all healthcare professionals involved in obesity management, this work aims to provide guidance for the prevention, treatment, and long-term management of obesity in light of current scientific evidence.
