Cherub Christmas Garland

Ten cherubs, each carrying a garland of flowers, are strung along three metres in this garland from Mamelok. Each figure is die-cut, embossed and finished by hand in Great Britain, and measures roughly 185 × 110mm.Die-cutting presses a shaped blade through the printed card to free each figure from the sheet, and embossing presses it between matched dies to raise the faces, wings and flowers into relief. Mamelok was founded in Breslau as one of the first commercial colour printers, and its range still draws on the Victorian scrap designs from those years.Caring for a Paper GarlandHang the garland well clear of candles and open fires, as card catches quickly. Lift it down by the string, which carries its weight, so that the embossed figures are not bent where they join it.
