AKCP Air Quality and Particle Sensor (AQS)
The AKCP Air Quality Sensor (AQS) reports 9 air quality readings from a single compact sensor: particulate matter (PM1.0, PM2.5, PM4.0, PM10), carbon dioxide (CO2), volatile organic compound (VOC) index, nitrogen oxides (NOx) index, temperature, and humidity. Dust is an easy problem to miss in a data center. Particles settle on heatsinks and components and insulate them from the cooling air. Your rack can show cold supply air and no cooling faults while a server still overheats. A rising particulate count provides the missing data point, showing dust may be the cause, so you can schedule cleaning or filter changes before you lose a server. Gases cause a slower kind of damage. A buildup of VOCs or NOx, combined with incorrect humidity, creates conditions for corrosion of metal elements. The AQS tracks gases and humidity together, allowing you to spot that combination early. The particulate sensor uses dust-resistant Sheath Flow technology rated for a lifetime of more than 10 years. Mount it up to 10 m (33 ft) from your AKCP base unit. Pair it with AKCP temperature sensors, such as the cabinet thermal map, to see the cause of a high ∆T in the rack and not just the symptom.
