Domino Woven Throw

54" x 70" (137cm x 178cm) The Domino throw was designed by UK based artist Luiza Holub for Slowdown Studio. Luiza is a printmaker and illustrator who carves lino by hand, finding charm in ordinary household objects and the quiet scenes we usually overlook. This design comes from a series called Studio Still Life. It started as a bit of play in the studio, an exercise in not overthinking. She sets up a simple still life with whatever’s lying around the house, studio or garden, then carves it straight from real life. For this still life, she chose a stripy cloth, a small stripy vessel and her favourite droopy tulips. She usually works in colour, but this one ended up monochrome, and she loves how it turned out.
