Seaside Blanket Kit - Alpaca/Wool Version

The Seaside Blanket is one of our most popular projects for welcoming a new little one. The entire blanket is worked in garter stitch, with simple stripes that let the colors do the work. It’s the kind of project you can comfortably knit while chatting with friends, watching a movie, or listening to an audiobook. For this version, we’ve chosen Big Bad Wool Weepaca, a worsted weight blend of 50% superwash merino wool and 50% baby alpaca. We like Weepaca for baby blankets because it combines exceptional softness with easy care. The baby alpaca adds warmth and a gentle hand, while the superwash merino makes the blanket machine washable—something new parents appreciate. Each kit pairs Weepaca’s creamy Raw White with four coordinating accent colors. The white creates a calm background, while the colored stripes give each blanket its own personality. Choose from three colorways: Sun + Sea — blushes, katie bug, hay, and water. We used this colorway. Blush + Bramble — soft blush, bright pink, fuchsia, and deep berry. Citrus + Slate — pale butter yellow, chartreuse, soft slate blue, and icy aqua. Copper + Tide — warm copper, pale aqua, soft apricot, and bright turquoise.
