S-829 (5'8" x 10'4")

S-829 has the depth and atmosphere of an Old Master painting. Hand-painted in our Brooklyn studio, its deep espresso-brown and charcoal ground is layered with warm umber and muted rust tones, creating subtle movement and richness across the surface. Measuring 5'8" x 10'4", the backdrop has a beautifully restrained, painterly quality. Rather than a defined pattern, the color shifts organically from dark, smoky areas to warmer passages, creating dimension and a sense of age without competing with the subject. Its rich, low-key palette is particularly suited to portraiture, fashion, editorial, still life, and fine-art photography, where dramatic light and shadow can bring out the nuances within the painted surface. Like every Oliphant backdrop, S-829 is painted entirely by hand in Brooklyn, New York. The variations in color, texture, and brushwork are part of its individual character and make the piece truly one of a kind.
