Blessed Among Women

"And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour...For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. Luke 1:46-49The Story Behind the PaintingMary holds the sleeping infant Jesus close, her cheek gently resting against his as her eyes close in serene contemplation. How could she have known the profound blessing her child would be to her, and all of mankind. How could she know the impact of His virtuous life, infinite sacrifice, and eternally reaching grace. Truly blessed among women, though few would desire to take her place.About This ImageIn Jay Bryant Ward's Blessed Among Women, the timeless bond between mother and child takes on a quietly sacred dimension. The Virgin Mary — robed in flowing cream, her veil soft as a whisper — cradles the sleeping infant Jesus with a tenderness that transcends time. Her cheek rests gently against his, eyes closed in peaceful contemplation, as a warm halo of peach and ivory light wraps them both in heavenly stillness.Drawing from the visual language of Renaissance Marian devotion and rendered with a luminous, contemporary soft-focus technique, this painting carries both the reverence of tradition and the warmth of something deeply personal. The gentle golden-white radiance of the background gives the composition an ethereal, almost atmospheric glow — as if light itself is expressing devotion.A meaningful addition to any faith-centered home, nursery, chapel, or gifting occasion, this gallery-quality fine art print brings a spirit of serenity and grace to any wall it graces.DetailsMade to order.
