2025 CigarClub Customs Vol 6: Gemini
Manufacturer: Fratello Body: Medium Size: 5.0 x 50 Robusto Wrapper: Dominican Corojo Binder: Ecuadorian Sumatra Fillers: Dominican, Colombian & Honduran Tasting Notes: cedar, cinnamon, earth, dark fruit, cashew For this release, we teamed up with Omar de Frias of Fratello Cigars to bring you something truly special. Normally, I start with a blend and the name follows. But this time, I knew I wanted to create a space-themed release from the start - one that honors both NASA’s legacy and Omar’s personal connection. Before founding Fratello Cigars, Omar spent over a decade working at NASA, and that history made this concept feel inevitable. The Gemini space program, launched by NASA in the mid-1960s, served as the bridge between Mercury and Apollo - earning the nickname “The Bridge to the Moon.” Its purpose was to develop and test the skills and technology needed for future lunar missions: spacewalking, orbital maneuvering, and spacecraft docking. Across ten manned missions, Gemini pushed the limits of what was possible - proving that astronauts could live and work in space for extended periods and control their craft with precision. It turned short experimental flights into complex, coordinated operations, paving the way for the Apollo landings to come. In that same spirit, Gemini pushes the boundaries of blending. A silky Dominican Corojo wrapper rests over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and a trio of Dominican, Colombian, and Honduran filler tobaccos. The result is a velvety, medium-bodied cigar with an elegant aroma and refined texture. Each draw delivers a balanced progression of cedar, cinnamon, and dark fruit, finishing with smooth notes of cashew and earth. Just as Gemini paved the way to the Moon, this cigar was crafted to explore new frontiers in flavor - an experience of balance, discovery, and appreciation for the craftsmanship behind every puff.
