Whole bunch maceration for 14 days. Fermentation with indigenous yeast. Aged in old barrels on the lees for 8 months. Bottled with no fining or filtration and just a tiny amount of sulphur. This Wine: A magnum of one of our all time favourite wines! A skin contact cuvée made from a white grape that often develops a pink skin. So this effectively drinks like a very light red. Fresh red fruit flavours with concentrated mineral elements and bright acidity. Notes on the Winemaker: Jean-Pierre Rietsch is a natural winemaker in the village of Mittelbergheim, Alsace. His estate has been in the family for seven generations but wasn't used for vine cultivation until the 1970s. He has garnered a reputation as a legend in this area and when you try his wines, you'll see why. From rich and complex Riesling to traditional method sparkling wine and skin contact cuvées, his wide range has something for everyone.
