Black Sheaffer Craftsman fountain pen - medium Gregg point
Sheaffer had some kind of relationship with Gregg shorthand. Sheaffer offered pens bearing the Gregg mark - see the '/ on the barrel - that were equipped with nibs that were said to be tuned to be best suited for writing Gregg shorthand. Sheaffer pens made with the Gregg mark from the 1930s Balance line through the 1950s Snorkels. This pen is in very good condition. The celluloid and plating are unblemished. The barrel color and clarity is very nice with only a bit of darkening. The nib is excellent and writes a lovely, wet line. So many pens from this era have fine or extra-fine points so this medium is a refreshing change. The filling system has been restore with modern, synthetic materials that will last for years. The only maintenance is an occasional dab of silicone grease on the filler rod. The pen and nib are comparable in size to a Pelikan M6xx.
