Offered here is an extraordinary 2002 Gretsch G6144 Spectra Sonic C Melody Baritone finished in a stunning metallic “Stars & Stripes” USA flag scheme unlike anything we have ever encountered before. After extensive research, correspondence with Fender/Gretsch representatives, TV Jones, Gretsch enthusiasts and archive searching, we have been unable to locate another documented example anywhere worldwide. Importantly, accompanying correspondence included with the guitar confirms the finish itself was factory-applied and NOT a later amateur refinish. This guitar comes complete with a remarkable paper trail from previous ownership, including direct email correspondence with Fender/Gretsch representatives and TV Jones whilst the former owner attempted to establish the instrument’s origins and authenticity.
