Upgrade your stock H-D™ compensator the right way—with a heavy-duty outer replacement spring engineered to handle real-world power, torque, and mileage. The BAKER Comptimizer Heavy-Duty Compensator Spring is a direct replacement for the standard outer spring (OEM 83936-09A), but the performance difference is night and day. Designed with increased torsional absorption capacity to handle real-world torque and horsepower. This spring is precision-engineered to manage the dampening threshold, reducing the shudder often felt during take-off. The result? A quieter, more controlled drivetrain that enhances the capacity of your stock components while significantly increasing longevity. Whether you’re running a bone-stock bike or a performance-built machine, this simple, affordable upgrade delivers big gains in durability and ride quality—making it a must-have for any serious rider. And like everything with the BAKER name on it, it’s proudly made in the USA. Note: Install this part before excessive wear develops on the OEM sprocket or outer ramp. This upgrade enhances performance but cannot revive failed or worn assemblies. Features Heavy-duty outer replacement spring for the stock H-D™ compensator Direct upgrade for OEM spring 83936-09A Increased torsional absorption capacity Precision-engineered for stock and performance applications Improved starting performance by controlling wind up on initial start Made proudly in the USA Benefits Boosts horsepower and torque capacity for longevity Reduces compensator noise for a smoother, quieter ride Minimizes wear and extends the service life of compensator components Simple, cost-effective upgrade that delivers immediate results Fitment 2007-Later Softail* & Touring applications and 2006-2017 Dyna models ** **For 2007 to 2010 Big Twin: The model must be equipped with the multi-piece spring stack “Screamin’ Eagle” style compensating sprocket assembly. If the customer still has a stock Compensator Sprocket, they will need a HD rotor to install the BAKER Comptimizer Heavy-Duty Compensator Spring. For a 2006 Dyna, the customer will need an HD rotor and stator. BAKER Drivetrain offers the rotor, but the stator must be purchased directly from a local HD dealership (PN 30017-07). For 2011 Big Twin models, if the stock spring cup is welded onto the stock rotor, a new HD rotor will be needed in order to install the BAKER compensating sprocket. HD rotors and stators are available for purchase from BAKER Drivetrain or your local HD dealer. Part Number 83936-BD Compensator Spring
