We Ship Worldwide via UPS or DHL Item Location SAMURAI STORE Tokyo Item# DY14 Antique suit of armor Edo Shogun period w/ Tokubetsu-Kicho Certificate A stunning antique armor on display at SAMURAI STORE TOKYO - a quality antique armor from the mid-Edo period (1700s). The cuirass consists of 2 divided iron plates, finished with Iyozane, hand-spliced small iron pieces, painted in rusty brown lacquer, and dark blue silk braid lacings. Featuring a Zunari, or "human head-shaped" kabuto, here is your chance to own one of the most popular helmet styles amongst the warlords of Japan's Sengoku Jidai (Warring States Period) to the Edo period. Kabuto also features wooden side horns finished in the shape of rabbit ears, and a header board represents a full moon. All parts shown in the pictures come with a Gunsen warlord folding fan with Hinomaru, the rising sun. The original storage box features a traditional crest, "Maru-ni Mituwari Sakura," or Three Sakura blossoms in a circle, which has been used by many samurai families, including the Hosokawa and Matsudaira. A certificate comes with this item. The Tokubetsu Kicho paper certificates granted by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor, a.k.a Japan Armor Society.
