Taking place in the Library at Killruddery House, Peter’s talk will consider the risks facing our built heritage today — from climate change and under-funding to the challenges of legislation, regulation and inappropriate energy retrofitting. Peter Cox is the founding member of Carrig Conservation International Ltd. and brings more than thirty-five years of international experience in the conservation of historic buildings and porous building materials. With qualifications in chemical engineering and material science, his work has focused on the analysis of masonry decay and the treatment of stone and mortar in heritage buildings. A long-standing member of ICOMOS Ireland, Peter served as President from 2003–2006 and continues to work internationally with governments and organisations on conservation policy, particularly in relation to traditional buildings and energy efficiency. This talk will take place in The Library at Killruddery House, home to the Brabazon family since 1618 and a member of Historic Houses of Ireland. WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?
