Unlike basic electro-galvanising, hot-dip galvanising is better suited to long-term outdoor use in British weather. Using 70 x 45mm timber beams, the stand gives a minimum height of 12cm and a maximum height of 40cm, with an outer beam spacing of 42cm. Depending on the timber length used, the stand can support multiple hives; for more than four hives, an additional central support is recommended. Spring-loaded locking bolts allow the stand to be quickly converted into transport position, making it ideal for migratory beekeeping or moving between apiary sites.
