"Patron" Tea Glass Holder Set, Antique Patinated 925 Silver, in Case — 3-piece with Engraving Panel
Some gifts only truly become gifts when the recipient makes them their own. When initials, a date, or a family crest are engraved in the center of the holder's oval medallion, a tea set transforms into an item with a personal touch – an heirloom with a name, passed down through generations. Our "Antique Patinated Patron" tea glass holder set embodies this very idea in silver: a podstakannik made of 925 sterling silver with the classicist crest design of the ArgentA Classic line. Posuda – column structure, stirrup handle with laurel leaf decoration, acanthus volutes – and in the middle, an empty oval medallion framed by a laurel wreath and bow. The field awaits you. Unlike the high-gloss polished "The Master" set, this holder is antique patinated: the ArgentA-typical blackening in the recesses makes acanthus, laurel, and borders stand out plastically, while the crest medallion and polished surfaces shine with silver in between. It comes with a classic table teaspoon and a checkered crystal glass. All presented in a velvet-lined premium case in navy blue. Personalized gift with engraving With initials, crest, or logo Main patron, head of the house, godfather, director, jubilee – whoever receives a piece of silver with their own engraving will never forget this gift. The word comes from Latin — patronus, the protector, the advocate, the patron of a family or cause. In Russian, ArgentA simply calls the set "Гербовый" (gerbovyj) — literally "with a crest," "heraldic." In German, "Patron" seemed more appropriate to us: because the empty crest field awaits the one who will lead the piece — the patron of the house, the company, the family. This places the set in our crest family of the ArgentA Classic line: Double-headed Eagle (state), St. George (patron saint), Bronze Horseman (St. Petersburg symbol), Spassky Tower (Moscow symbol) — and now "Patron" with the empty medallion for personalization. All use the same holder body with column structure, laurel wreath, and bow. Only the central image differs. Patron vs. The Master — what are the differences? We offer both engraving sets side by side because they have different holder designs: Patron antique patinated (this set): Blackening in the recesses — the lines appear sculptural and classic-ancient. Holder with a bell-shaped base, slightly taller body. Classic table teaspoon without a separate initial field. The Master: High-gloss polished without blackening — pure, bright silver, modern-festive. Holder with 4 separate acanthus feet, a bit more delicate. "Imperator" teaspoon with an additional initial field on the stem crown (i.e., two engraving areas instead of one). Rule of thumb: If you want the piece to be ancient and dignified (father, grandfather, heirloom), you'll likely choose Patron. If you prefer modern-representative and with two engraving areas (holder + spoon), you'll likely choose Master. What's in the set? Podstakannik "Patron" antique patinated: 925 silver, approx. 127 g. Classicist column structure with a central oval medallion, framed by a laurel wreath and bow — deliberately left empty for engraving. Acanthus volutes between the columns, stirrup handle with laurel leaf decoration and beaded edge. Recesses blackened, raised surfaces polished. Dimensions approx. 68 × 68 mm square · Height approx. 110 mm · Ø approx. 68 mm. Classic teaspoon (table silver): 925 silver, length approx. 130 mm, approx. 22 g. Elegant stem with an oval stem end and subtle acanthus decorations at the neck, high-gloss polished bowl — simpler and calmer than the Imperator variant. Crystal glass "Chayny" (checkered): classic Russian tea glass, approx. 200 ml, 65 × 100 mm, cut checkered pattern. Replaceable consumable part, easy to replace. Premium case navy blue: velvet-lined, approx. 132 × 132 × 165 mm. Protects the silver from air contact and serves as ready-made gift packaging. Engraving — what's possible, what's not The oval medallion on the holder is the main stage. Realistic options: Initials (1–3 letters) in classic script or as an intertwined monogram Family crest or company logo (if representable as a line drawing) Date (e.g., 14.05.2026) or a short motto (max. 3–4 words, easily legible) A combination: initials at the top, date at the bottom The medallion measures approx. 30 × 22 mm — line drawings work best, very fine photorealism is not practical on this surface. Hand engraving by a silversmith best suits the classicist style — it appears local and long-lasting. Machine laser engraving is the simpler alternative but looks more technical. Allow about 1–2 weeks for a beautiful hand engraving. We are happy to arrange contact — price and duration depend on complexity, font, and crest. Bring your desired motif (e.g., as a drawing, photo of an existing crest, or vector file). When does the Patron set fit particularly well? Father's Day gift: Family monogram in a laurel wreath — to be passed down through generations. Grandfather's gift in Russian-German families — as an heirloom and a reminder of home. Business gift: director, board member, long-serving employee for an anniversary. The logo fits centrally in the medallion. Godfather or godmother gift: for confirmation, graduation, engraved with the date. Wedding gift for the groom: initials + wedding date, laurel wreath as a symbolic "tribute to the new head of the house." Round birthday, retirement, promotion: the medallion becomes a small, dignified award. Patriotic and institutional occasions: coat of arms of a city, fraternity, lodge, church district. Heirloom and passing-on gift — value-retaining, collectible, ready-to-gift in a case. Material and Care 925 sterling silver, high-gloss polished, with blackening in the recesses of the decorations. The blackening is the ArgentA-typical superficial patination (NOT Niello — that is a different inlay technique of our SevChern line). Clean holder and spoon only by hand with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft cloth — never in the dishwasher, never rub away the blackening in the recesses with silver polish. Wipe dry after use, preferably store in the case — protects against air contact and delays natural tarnishing. Checkered glass: dishwasher-safe on a short, gentle cycle; by hand is gentler and clearer. In case of stronger tarnishing of the polished surfaces: use a soft silver polishing cloth without abrasive grains on the raised areas, never in the blackened recesses. If you have an engraving added: wait a few days with cleaning the engraved area until the work is fully cured. Comparison with other ArgentA tea sets We carry several ArgentA tea sets side by side. Both have an empty crest medallion for personalization, but different designs: Patron is antique patinated (blackening in the recesses, classic-ancient), Master is high-gloss polished (bright, modern silver). Additionally, the Master's "Imperator" spoon has an extra initial field on the stem crown — with the Patron set, the spoon is a classic table spoon without a separate engraving field. Is engraving included in the price? No, engraving is a separate service. We are happy to arrange contact with a silversmith. Price and duration depend on complexity (number of letters, crest detail, font) and method (hand engraving or laser engraving). What can be engraved on the medallion? Initials, monogram, family crest, company logo, date, short motto (max. 3–4 words). The oval field is approximately 30 × 22 mm — line drawings work best. Very fine photorealism is not practical on this surface. Does the set have a gilded variant? The standard is the antique patinated variant (this set here). ArgentA produces a gilded variant of the crest medallion on request — please contact us briefly, and we will order the special configuration directly from the manufacturer in Kolchugino. Delivery time will be slightly longer. Can I also have the spoon engraved? The classic table spoon has a flat oval stem end that can generally be engraved — initials or a small date. For a second engraving field with a framing border, we recommend the Master set with an Imperator spoon and an openwork stem crown as an initial field. Is the blackening the same as Niello? No. Niello is a sulfur-silver inlay technique (e.g., SevChern from Veliky Ustyug) where black paste is melted into engravings. The ArgentA blackening is a superficial patination in the recesses that enhances the 3D effect of high reliefs. How large is the drinking glass? The checkered crystal glass holds approx. 200 ml — ideal for a classic Russian tea cup with strong black tea. Note: Argenta supplies checkered cut or diamond cut depending on availability; both fit the holder in terms of size and can be reordered. Is the set dishwasher safe? No, not the silver parts. Please clean the holder and spoon only by hand. The checkered crystal glass is robust and dishwasher-safe on a short, gentle cycle — but hand washing is gentler and provides clearer results. Is the set suitable for women's gifts? The Patron set is symbolically masculine (head of the house, patron, laurel wreath). For women's gifts with a Russian connection, we alternatively recommend our Troika set or the coffee sets Libellula and Rosalia. Who is the manufacturer? The set comes from ArgentA, the silver manufacturer from Kolchugino in the Vladimirskaya Oblast (Russia). Classic line "Classic. Posuda" — complete in-house production from melting to hand polishing, ECO-certified 925 sterling silver.
