Jolie-Laide 2023 Red Wine ‘Glou d’État’
Tech Variety: 36% Valdigué, 22% Mourvédre, 18% Cinsault, 16% Grenache, 8% other Location: California Alcohol: 12% Tasting Notes A light-bodied red wine crafted in a lively style inspired by some European house wines. Bright cherry, plum, cranberry, lavender and earth tones. Fresh and lifted acidity with gentle tannins. This wine is ready to drink (Glou! Glou!) and best served slightly chilled. Winemaking The grape clusters are left whole as fermentation begins by carbonic maceration. Once carbonic maceration completes, the clusters are crushed by foot before the final juice is moved to barrel where it rests briefly before bottling. Vineyard A wine of diverse vineyard and grape varieties scattered throughout Northern California.
