Its name "Yunwu" means "mist" and refers to the special growing conditions: The main growing area is located at 900 m altitude, where mist forms almost all year round. This abundance of moisture ensures slow growth of the tea plants and gives the tea its exceptional quality. Creamy-buttery taste with a nutty note Lushan Yunwu impresses with its harmonious blend of creaminess and freshness. Its taste is reminiscent of a high-quality yellow tea – buttery, soft and slightly sweet, accompanied by a subtle, nutty note. The aroma of the dry leaves is refreshing and floral, while the wet leaves are reminiscent of roasted beans. Unique growing conditions for the highest quality Thanks to the cool temperatures and dense fog, the tea plants sprout only late in spring – exactly when the monsoon rains begin. These special conditions promote the development of intense aromas and valuable ingredients. The tea has a medium-thick, silky mouthfeel and leaves a pleasant freshness. Careful processing for a pure aroma The careful harvesting and traditional processing preserve the delicate flavor profile of this rare highland tea. Each infusion reveals new facets – from nutty and roasted notes to a mild, sweet freshness that lingers. Preparation We recommend the Gongfu method for brewing the tea. Use a small (approx. 200ml) teapot or gaiwan. Heat the vessel by pouring hot water into it. Then pour the water out. Put 6 grams of tea (approx. 6 teaspoons) into the pot (Don't forget to smell the dry tea leaves in the pot at this point, you will be surprised by the sweet and nutty aroma). Pour 80°C water over the tea. This first infusion is also discarded. Then pour 80°C water over the tea again. Let the tea steep for approx. 10 seconds (Steeping longer will make the tea bitter). Enjoy this exclusive highland tea from Sichuan. In this way, you can steep the tea at least 6x .
