Ceiba Tree - Snorlrus

Hi, I'm a Snorlus, a Snake crossed with a Warlrus! Welcome to the world of the Ceiba Tree, the mythic tree of life. These are Dream Creatures; when creatures from our world meet in the dream world sometimes a new Dream Creature is born. Ceiba Tree toys are designed and finished by local Yarra Junction artist, Antonia Green, who has found Fair Trade Mayan womens communities to work with for every last detail. The fabric is hand woven from natural dyed cotton on traditional back strap looms by the last village in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala to still be collecting the natural dye plants and keeping the knowledge of what to collect at which time of year. The fabric is then sent to be screen printed with non toxic water based inks and then sewn by a fair trade womens collective in Guatemala City name Esparenza, meaning 'Hope', who have pulled their community out of poverty with determined community efforts, one of which is their sewing co-operative. The toys are then stuffed and finished in Australia by Antonia with Australian wool, ready for their new homes.
