Vert Elite Pipolina Microclover
Vert Élite Pipolina® Microclover is a dwarf white clover variety known for its leaves being 2 to 3 times smaller than those of traditional white clover. Thanks to its creeping stems, it quickly forms a dense, lush green ground cover that requires very little maintenance. More discreet than common white clover, it naturally produces fewer flowers while retaining the many environmental benefits associated with clover. Used alone or mixed with turf grasses, Pipolina® Microclover helps create a more sustainable lawn that is more drought-tolerant and less dependent on fertilizers. However, we recommend mixing it with grasses for areas subject to regular foot traffic, as microclover alone offers lower wear tolerance. Professional-grade quality used in sod production by a Quebec family-owned business specializing in turfgrass for over 50 years. Developed and field-tested since 1975, it is perfectly adapted to Canadian growing conditions. Available Sizes 100 g Format Pure seeding: covers 150 to 214 sq. ft. Mixed with grasses: covers up to 2,152 sq. ft. 400 g Format Pure seeding: covers 600 to 856 sq. ft. Mixed with grasses: covers up to 8,608 sq. ft. Benefits ✅ Naturally fixes atmospheric nitrogen ✅ Significantly reduces fertilizer requirements ✅ Excellent drought tolerance ✅ Low maintenance ✅ Tolerates compacted soils ✅ Resistant to dog urine ✅ Attracts pollinators ✅ Quickly establishes a dense ground cover ✅ Adapted to most soil types Growing Conditions Pipolina® Microclover prefers cool, slightly moist soils but adapts well to most soil types. It can be established under a variety of sunlight conditions, with a recommended minimum of 3 hours of direct sunlight per day. Average unmowed height: approximately 15 cm (6 inches) To maintain a more uniform and attractive appearance, regular mowing at a height of 5 to 7 cm (2 to 2.75 inches) is recommended. Seeding Instructions Best Seeding Periods Spring Early Fall New Lawn Seeding Prepare and level the soil surface. Spread the seed evenly. Lightly cover the seed with approximately 1/4 inch of topdressing soil or compost. Keep the soil consistently moist until germination. Overseeding Scarify or aerate the lawn surface. Spread the seed evenly. Lightly cover with compost or topdressing soil. Keep the area moist until establishment. Maintenance Fertilization No fertilizer is normally required, as Pipolina® Microclover naturally fixes atmospheric nitrogen. Mowing Two to three mowings per season are generally sufficient to maintain a height of 5 to 7 cm (2 to 2.75 inches). Grass Clippings We recommend leaving grass clippings on the lawn to promote the natural recycling of nutrients. Recommended Uses Residential lawns Gardens Parks Green spaces Low- to medium-use sports fields Eco-friendly grass and clover blends Important Information Naturally produces fewer flowers than traditional white clover. Flowers are generally rare during the first year. Does not produce thatch. May be more susceptible to winter injury when seeded as a pure stand. May decline in soils with very high nitrogen levels. For improved durability and foot traffic resistance, we recommend mixing it with turf grasses. No unnecessary fillers. Professional-grade quality used in our sod fields since 1975. 🌱
