Mug: Subtle Surprise

Pottery is often full of surprises, and this mug is no exception. I spent a significant amount of time carving bundles of wheat on both sides of this mug (photo of the original carving shown in the photos). After bisque firing, I decided to try a new glaze combination on it, and unfortunately the carving is now mostly obscured. I think the final result is subtle and beautiful, even though you might not be able to tell what my original intent was. Cheers to subtle surprises!
