Origin: United States Processed in: Vietnam 1 pc (400G +/-) Thaw in fridge overnight or submerge in cold water for 15-20 mins Perfect for pan fry or BBQ DO NOT refreeze *Not deboned. Be cautious while consuming. Cooking Guide: (Grilled Atka Mackerel/Hokke no Shioyaki) Ingredients: 2 Atka mackerel fillets 1 tsp. of salt 2 Lemon wedges (for serving) Optional: soy sauce or ponzu sauce for dipping Instructions: Prepare the Mackerel: Rinse the Atka mackerel fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Score the skin of the fillets a few times on both sides with a sharp knife. This helps the fish cook evenly and allows flavors to penetrate. Season and Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly sprinkle salt over both sides of the mackerel fillets. Place the fillets skin-side down on the grill. Grill for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the skin is crispy and the flesh is cooked through. The fish should easily flake with a fork when done. Serve: Transfer the grilled Atka mackerel fillets to a serving platter. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the fish. Optionally, serve with soy sauce or ponzu sauce for dipping. Tips: Ensure your grill grates are clean and well-oiled to prevent sticking. Adjust grilling time based on the thickness of the fillets; thicker fillets may require a few extra minutes on each side. Grilled Atka mackerel is delicious served with steamed rice and a side of vegetables, such as steamed broccoli or sautéed spinach.
