This version of Alternative Ashes is in the Owzat format and now has split fielder ratings, This Extension Kit for 'International Cricket' is something a little different. Instead of further Sets of Player Cards for actual cricketers we have issued two Sets of twenty-six Cards each for entirely fictitious players, representing the top performers for England and Australia as England are about to embark on the 1990/1 tour to Australia. The Scenario is simple, Australia regained the Ashes by a 2-1 victory in England in 1989 and you have the task of selecting an English squad of sixteen players to attempt to win them back in a six-match series in Australia. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT- YOU DO NOT STUDY THE PLAYER CARDS AT THIS STAGE. As part of the final play-testing we staged the 1989 Ashes series, and full details of the results and averages, plus brief player biographies, are included in this Extension Kit. This should provide you with enough information to select your English & Australian squads. We have not supplied details of any Test Matches played by either team after the 1989 series, and the Player Biographies also include only that series. It was not possible to replay all the intervening matches, nor provide details of the domestic seasons in each country. In a sense, therefore, 'The Alternative Ashes' exist in a vacuum, but as England - Australia matches have produced over the years most of the great moments in Test cricket, perhaps that is how it should be. We suggest that you make your own team decisions without studying the Player Cards. Let the players' talent speak for themselves as they play, rather than attempt to analyse their Card statistics too closely. Good luck on your quest. You may need it!
