Zikou No. 009 Turquoise Mug

There’s something about this one that stops you for a moment. The Zikou No. 009 Turquoise Mug is finished in a rich, deep turquoise blue, layered with a soft, almost subtle sparkle that catches the light as you move it. It’s not loud, but it’s hard to ignore. Handmade in Japan at the Zikou kiln, the form is intentionally simple. A quiet, balanced shape that feels right in the hand and easy to reach for every day. It doesn’t try too hard, and that’s exactly the point. We came across these while travelling through Kyoto and brought back a small number. Each one carries that sense of place, something considered, personal, and not easily found again.
