Vintage Moroccan Fes Pottery Lidded Jar Blue White Silver Metal Filigree

Vintage Moroccan Fes pottery lidded jar, beautifully decorated in traditional cobalt blue and white and embellished with elaborate silver-tone metalwork. The rounded ceramic vessel features hand-painted floral and Moorish-inspired motifs divided by raised metal borders, with an ornate pierced metal band encircling the body. The removable lid is finished with applied metal leaves and an elaborate openwork finial. The underside is hand marked “FES” with additional initials/characters, identifying the piece with the traditional pottery center of Fez (Fès), Morocco. Similar Fes pottery is known for its distinctive blue-and-white decoration combined with decorative metal overlays. The exact composition of the metal has not been tested and is therefore described as silver-tone metal rather than sterling or silver plate. Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related patina, surface wear, minor glaze/finish loss and small imperfections consistent with handmade pottery.
