The opener is cast metal with raised Sprite lettering and green logo detail, designed for wall mounting as a fixed soda bottle opener. The Starr X stationary opener design dates back to early 20th-century soda fountain and general store use. Starr’s own timeline notes that the “New” Starr X stationary opener was advertised in The Coca-Cola Bottler magazine in 1929, and later branded Starr X openers were produced for Coca-Cola family brands including Sprite, Fanta, Barq’s, and others.
