Raboni — Resurrection's First Light (Reversed)

"Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master." - John 20:16The Story Behind the PaintingShe came to the garden weeping, expecting only a sealed stone and silence. Instead, she found light. Mary kneels in the soft gold of Easter morning as the risen Christ stands before her, radiant and barely earthly. This is the most intimate moment in the Resurrection story — the moment grief became glory."Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master." — John 20:16About This ImageIn the quiet stillness of an Easter garden, a single word changed everything. Jay Bryant Ward's luminous impressionistic painting captures the sacred moment recorded in John 20:14–16 — Mary Magdalene kneeling, her gaze lifted toward the radiant, white-robed figure of the risen Christ, divine light pouring through the warm golden-green foliage that surrounds them both. The title Raboni — the word Mary spoke when she recognized Him — anchors this image in scripture and in feeling. Ward's soft, painterly technique fills the scene with warmth and reverence, rendering both the human longing and the divine answer in a single glance between two figures.Printed on gallery-quality fine art paper or canvas, this horizontal composition brings quiet spiritual depth to any living room, bedroom, entryway, or chapel space. It speaks equally to Easter mornings and every ordinary day that needs a reminder of hope restored.DetailsMade to order.
