The medical examiner says otherwise. Lieutenant Roscoe Benteen of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has a dead judge, a silver pillbox and a diary full of initials. Nine names. Nine people who sat with Wallace Logan in the last weeks of his life, and one of them replaced the tablets in that pillbox with something that stopped his heart in less than four minutes. And nine weeks in, with nothing left to try, Benteen makes a telephone call that will haunt for the rest of his life. Because four days later, the woman who took that call is found dead in a parking lot.
