The water stays cold long after the air warms up. A drysuit is what lets you practise rescues, capsize and swim without the cold cutting your session short. Don't own one? Rent a Nookie drysuit for your course. One price covers every day of your course. Your suit is waiting at the launch, and your instructor checks the fit before you get on the water. Courses only. Drysuit rentals are booked with your Kayak Ontario course registration and used on that course. We don't rent drysuits for personal paddling. We'll pull the right suit from the fleet before your course. 3 Dress in layers underneathThe drysuit keeps water out; your layers keep you warm. A wicking base layer and a warm mid layer — wool or synthetic, never cotton. 4 Suit up and paddleYour instructor shows you how to get in, check the seals and burp out the extra air. Then you're on the water. Latex allergy? Our rental drysuits have latex seals, so please get in touch before you book. Good to know — Cold-water courses such as Level 2 require a drysuit. For Level 1, one is recommended early and late in the season. — A drysuit buys you time in cold water. It doesn't replace warm layers, good judgement or staying close to your group. — Thinking about buying your own? No. Drysuit rentals are for Kayak Ontario courses only. My measurements don't fit one size. What now? Email us your chest, waist, inside leg and height and we'll sort it out before your course. Does one rental cover a multi-day course? Yes. One rental covers every day of your course. Do I need to rent a kayak too? Only if you don't have your own. The kayak rental is booked separately and includes the kayak, paddle and spray skirt.
