Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction

Appetite for Destruction, released July 21, 1987, launched Guns N' Roses from Sunset Strip obscurity to global hard rock domination their seismic debut selling 30 million copies worldwide. Raw sleaze anthems like "Welcome to the Jungle," "Sweet Child O' Mine," "Paradise City," and "Nightrain" fused Axl Rose's feral howl, Slash's blistering riffs, and street-hustler attitude, defining late '80s rock excess. Recorded in six weeks at Rumbo Recorders amid heroin haze and label battles, original Robert Williams shark artwork gave way to the cross-and-skulls icon after controversy. Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan's rhythm grit anchored the chaos. Debuting low but exploding via MTV, it dethroned hair metal while birthing the most dangerous band in rock history.
