Glitz One | RTX 5050 8GB + Ryzen 5 5500F + 16GB | Ready-to-Go Gaming PC | PC36
โจ Glitz One A little light goes a long way Most entry-level gaming PCs look like entry-level gaming PCs. Glitz One doesn't. The front is an infinity mirror set into tempered glass, with two lit 140mm fans cut straight through it: switched off it's a dark mirror, and switched on the light seems to fall away into the glass. It's the same chassis as the top of the series, and it looks every bit as special on the desk. Underneath is an RTX 5050 and AMD's new Ryzen 5 5500F, with 16GB of DDR4 and a 1TB NVMe drive. That's smooth 1080p in the latest games with DLSS 4 doing the heavy lifting, and high frame rates in the competitive ones. The 5500F is the clever part: a Zen 3 chip with PCIe 4.0, so the graphics card gets the full bandwidth it was designed for. The look of a showpiece, with plenty left over for the monitor. ๐งฌ Built to last, designed to evolve Glitz One is built on AMD's AM4 platform, and we'll be straight about what that means: it is a mature socket rather than a current one, so this is a machine to upgrade within rather than to build forward from. What you get in exchange is the price, because a B550 board and DDR4 memory cost a fraction of the current-generation equivalent, and at 1080p the difference in a game is not something you'd feel. There's still real room to move inside it: two free memory slots, a free M.2 slot, a drop-in processor path all the way to the Ryzen 7 5700X3D, and a 750W supply that will carry a much bigger graphics card later. ๐ Specifications ๐ง CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500F Click or tap for deeper spec info 6 cores, 12 threads of Zen 3, 3.0GHz base and 4.4GHz boost, with 16MB of L3 cache. 65W TDP, and boost will normally take it a little above that under load, which the cooler fitted holds within temperature without difficulty Not the same chip as the older Ryzen 5 5500. The 5500F launched in September 2026 on the same chiplet design as the Ryzen 5 5600 family, where the 5500 was a cut-down laptop-derived part. In practice that means PCIe 4.0 to the graphics card and the main M.2 slot, where the 5500 was stuck on PCIe 3.0, and a little more clock speed on top Well matched to the card in front of it. At 1080p an RTX 5050 is the part setting the frame rate in almost every game, so a more expensive processor would mostly sit waiting The F suffix means no integrated graphics, which you don't need with a card fitted and which is why it costs less. One practical consequence is in the motherboard notes below Socket AM4, so a Ryzen 7 5700X or 5700X3D drops straight in later without replacing anything else โ๏ธ CPU cooler: AMD Wraith Stealth Click or tap for deeper spec info The cooler AMD supply with the 5500F, and it is matched to a 65W processor Being straight about it: it holds the 5500F within temperature comfortably, and it is audible when the processor is working hard. It is not a bad cooler, it is a small one. Fitting it here is a deliberate choice to keep the price where it is If quiet matters to you, the tower cooler upgrade below is the single most effective change you can make to this machine, and the case takes coolers up to 163.5mm Mounted with fresh paste applied by hand rather than the pre-applied pad ๐ฒ Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B550M-A WIFI II (micro-ATX) Click or tap for deeper spec info Why B550 rather than the cheaper A520. B550 runs the graphics slot at PCIe 4.0 with this processor, where A520 is PCIe 3.0 only. The RTX 5050 uses eight lanes rather than sixteen, so the generation of those lanes matters more than usual, and an 8GB card benefits most from the extra bandwidth when a game runs short of video memory Two M.2 slots, one used. The system drive sits in the top slot, PCIe 4.0 x4 straight from the processor. The second slot is PCIe 3.0 from the chipset and stays free for another drive Four DDR4 slots supporting up to 128GB, with two free. Four SATA ports as well Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 built in, plus Gigabit Ethernet. On the rear: two 10Gbps and four 5Gbps USB-A One thing worth knowing before you plug anything in: the HDMI, DVI and VGA sockets on the motherboard's rear panel won't do anything, because this processor has no integrated graphics. Your monitor goes into the graphics card, which is where you'd want it anyway PC36 only uses motherboards chosen for stability and longevity. See our Trusted brands page ๐ Memory / RAM: 16GB (2ร8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Click or tap for deeper spec info A matched pair running dual channel at DDR4-3200 CL16 on its XMP profile, which is the speed this processor officially supports 16GB is the right amount at this tier. It is enough for modern games with a browser and Discord open alongside, and spending more on memory here would take money away from the parts that set your frame rate DDR4 is a large part of why this machine costs what it does. DDR5 has risen sharply this year and DDR4 far less, and at 1080p with a card in this class the difference between the two in a game is small Two of the four slots are free, so 32GB later is an addition rather than a replacement Specification guaranteed, model may vary. Happy to confirm the exact part on request ๐พ Storage: 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD (QLC) Click or tap for deeper spec info PCIe 4.0 speeds for quick boots and fast game loading. In normal use it feels identical to any other modern NVMe drive QLC is the flash type, and it is what keeps a 1TB drive affordable at this price. The one place you would notice it is writing very large files back to back, where sustained transfers of tens of gigabytes slow down once the drive's fast cache fills. Gaming, browsing and everyday work never do this The second M.2 slot stays free, so adding storage later is straightforward and does not mean replacing anything Specification guaranteed, model may vary. Happy to confirm the exact part on request ๐ฎ Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 8GB Click or tap for deeper spec info Blackwell, 2,560 CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR6 on a 128-bit bus. 130W, so it runs cool and asks little of the power supply DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation is what makes this card make sense. It is the entry point of the current generation, and the current generation of upscaling is exactly what an entry card needs. The transformer model is a real visual step up from what came before NVENC with AV1 encoding for streaming and recording. Even at this price you get the encoder most streaming software is built around Being straight about the 8GB and about the tier: this is an entry card. It is comfortable at 1080p high, and at 1440p it will need DLSS and some settings turned down in recent heavy titles. We would rather tell you that than let you discover it. If 1440p is your target, Glitz Two is the honest recommendation The chipset and VRAM are guaranteed: it will always be an RTX 5050 with 8GB. The AIB brand varies with availability, and we only use established manufacturers. See our Trusted brands page for more info ๐งฐ Case: Lian Li Vector V150 INF, Black (micro-ATX) Click or tap for deeper spec info 470 ร 221.5 ร 443.9mm on the outside, around 46 litres, in steel and 4mm tempered glass The front panel is the reason this series exists. An infinity mirror built into tempered glass, with precision cut-outs machined through it for the two 140mm intake fans and removable mesh dust filters behind them. The fans carry infinity-mirror hubs of their own, so the effect reads as one piece rather than as a lit panel with two holes in it. Switched off, it is a dark mirror. Switched on, the light seems to fall away into the glass Being accurate about airflow: this is a glass front with machined, filtered intakes rather than a full mesh face. That is a great deal more open than the solid glass fronts most mirror cases use, and with the fans drawing straight across the graphics card it keeps everything in this series comfortably cool Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX, with 5 expansion slots and support for back-connect boards. Graphics cards up to 400mm and CPU coolers up to 163.5mm. Radiators up to 360mm in the roof Front I/O is two USB 3.2 Type-A, a USB-C port and a combined audio jack. An adjustable anti-sag bracket for the graphics card comes fitted as standard ๐ฌ๏ธ Case cooling: 2 ร 140mm ARGB front intake and 1 ร 120mm ARGB rear exhaust, included with the case Click or tap for deeper spec info The two 140mm front fans and the 120mm rear exhaust come with the case. All three are PWM and ARGB, and the front pair carry the infinity-mirror hubs that continue the front panel's effect Cool air comes in through the mirrored front straight onto the graphics card, and leaves at the rear behind the processor. Three good fans for a 130W card and a 65W processor is a comfortable job rather than a marginal one Mounts for two more 120mm fans in the side and two in the base, so there is room to add airflow later Everything lights from the motherboard, so the fans, the front panel and the rest of the machine move as one piece. Fan curves set by hand before dispatch and verified through our standard stress testing rather than assumed โก Power supply: Deepcool PL750D 750W 80+ Bronze Click or tap for deeper spec info 750W against a build that draws around 230W under a heavy gaming load. That is a very generous margin, and it is deliberate: a much larger graphics card can go in later without touching the power supply Cybenetics ETA Silver rated, an independent efficiency measurement taken across the full load range, which in practice is a more useful signal than the 80+ badge on its own ATX 3.1 certified, built to absorb the brief power spikes modern graphics cards produce rather than tripping over them, and it includes a native 12V-2x6 cable, so a future NVIDIA card plugs straight in without an adaptor Non-modular, with the spare cable length stowed under the power supply shroud where none of it is visible through the glass An 850W 80+ Gold upgrade is available if you want higher efficiency and more headroom. See the upgrade options below ๐ Cabling: Black cabling, routed and tied Click or tap for deeper spec info Black cables throughout, routed behind the motherboard tray and tied down, with the excess folded under the power supply shroud where the glass does not reach Nothing crosses the front intake path or the graphics card's own fans With glass on the front and the side, the cable runs are part of what you are looking at. Braided extensions in a colour of your choice are available from the quick-add upgrades ๐ถ WiFi / Bluetooth / Ethernet: Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and Gigabit Ethernet, included Click or tap for deeper spec info Built into the ASUS PRIME B550M-A WIFI II. No separate adapter needed, and the aerial is supplied in the box Wi-Fi 6 on the 2.4 and 5GHz bands, which is plenty for gaming and streaming on a modern router Gigabit wired Ethernet, which we'd still recommend over wireless for competitive play ๐ช Operating system: As chosen by you from the listing options below. Windows 11 Home (OEM) is recommended. ๐งน Setup and optimisation: PC36 High-Class Standard. Full stress test with certificate, bloat-free installation, and BIOS set up properly Click or tap for deeper spec info PC36 High-Class Standard, included free with every build Ready the moment you open the box. Your PC boots straight into Windows with a local account already set up. No account sign-in wall, no first-run questionnaire, no half-hour of setup before you can use the machine you just bought BIOS updated and configured properly: manual fan curves, XMP enabled, Secure Boot enabled Vanilla Windows 11 installation if you choose Windows, with no bloatware added by us, and all drivers loaded and ready to go Full stress test with certificate. Every system is torture tested on CPU, RAM and GPU before dispatch, and ships with the certificate to prove it PC36 Premier Optimisation, available in the listing options CPU tuning to bring thermals and noise down with minimal performance loss, a deeper strip and debloat of Windows, and the fans tuned by hand for the quietest operation the machine will hold Good value here, and especially on the stock cooler. A Curve Optimiser undervolt on Zen 3 drops temperature and noise together without costing performance PC36 Ultimate Performance Tune, available in the listing options Advanced tuning on top of everything in Premier: a CPU tune, a memory tune and a GPU overclock The 5500F is unlocked and B550 allows it to be tuned, so the CPU portion is real. The gains in a GPU-bound 1080p game are modest, and Premier is the better value for most people ๐ก๏ธ Warranty: 3 years parts & labour (return to base) Click or tap for deeper spec info Standard 3-year coverage included, parts and labour both Optional extended warranties in the listing options below Why don't all parts list a brand and model? Most of our spec is named exactly. The processor, motherboard, case, cooler and power supply are the models listed, every time. For memory, storage and graphics cards we give a performance and quality guarantee instead of a model name. Supply on these three moves constantly, and pricing with it. Rather than list a part we might not be able to source next week, we commit to the specification: capacity, speed, timings, endurance class. And for graphics cards, we will always give you the chipset (e.g. RTX 5050) and VRAM that is listed. We only use parts from established manufacturers. In practice the difference between two well-made components at the same specification is small enough that most people would never notice it. If you'd like to know exactly what's going into your machine, ask before you order and we'll tell you. If you'd prefer a particular model, we can usually accommodate that, and you'd pay the difference in cost. ๐๏ธ Transparency notes The stock CPU cooler is adequate, but we recommend choosing to upgrade it for noise and thermal improvement (click or tap to read more) It keeps the 5500F within temperature without difficulty, but it is a small cooler and you will hear it when the processor is working. The tower cooler upgrade below fixes that properly. We fit the stock cooler as standard to keep the price where it is, not because we think it is the better part. The case's front USB-C port won't work on this motherboard as it stands (click or tap to read more) The Vector V150 INF has a USB-C port on the front, but the B550M-A WIFI II has no front USB-C header to connect it to, which is common on boards at this price. If you would like it working, speak to us on live chat before you order and we can fit a workaround that gets the port running, albeit at USB 2.0 speeds. The two front USB-A ports work as normal, and Glitz Two and above use boards with the header. There is a lot of light in this machine, and all of it can be turned down (click or tap to read more) The infinity mirror front, the fans and the memory are all lit, and that is the point of the series. It is also more light than some people want in a bedroom at night or a shared room, so it is worth knowing that all of it is under motherboard control: every part can be dimmed, set to a single colour or switched off entirely, and none of it affects how the machine performs. Tell us in the order notes how you would like it set and we will set it that way before it ships. RGB heatspreaders on the RAM are not guaranteed unless the quick add-on is chosen - this is due to industry-wide supply constraints on memory Memory, SSD and graphics card carry a specification guarantee rather than a fixed model (click or tap to read more) Most parts are named models and will be what is delivered. RAM, SSD and graphics card instead carry a spec guarantee, because current market conditions make stock on those three very variable. This keeps us agile enough to offer good pricing and honest spec lists. If you want clarity on the precise models we will use, drop us a live chat on the day you're ready to purchase and we'll confirm it. Product images are representative photos of a similar spec in the same style. Your PC will look similar but not identical. Our support team can help clarify anything you're unsure of. Images may show a 360mm AIO CPU liquid cooler with an LCD screen. This is a representative photograph of another build in this case; your PC will ship with the cooler listed in the spec list. If you'd like clarification, or want an LCD screen cooler in your build, drop us a message via Live Chat ๐ ๏ธ Popular upgrade options Quick-add upgrades. This listing has a set of one-click upgrades chosen to fit this exact build, each one priced, in the Quick-add Upgrades section on this page. Memory, storage, optimisation, the anti-sag bracket and the extended warranty are in the build options instead. Anything not shown in either place, ask us on live chat and we will price it. Need a monitor, keyboard or mouse? Scroll past the add to cart button. We've paired specific peripherals to get the best out of this build. Cooler upgrade to a single tower air cooler: choose it from the quick-add upgrades. Click or tap for more info The first upgrade we would make on this machine. It makes the biggest difference to how the machine sounds when the processor is working, for very little money. Guaranteed RGB memory: choose it from the quick-add upgrades. Click or tap for more info Supply on memory is moving so fast at the moment that we cannot promise lit heatspreaders as standard. If the memory lighting matters to the look you want, and on a series built around light it usually does, this guarantees it. PSU upgrade to 850W 80+ Gold: choose it from the quick-add upgrades. Click or tap for more info Only worth it if you want higher efficiency, or are planning a considerably more power-hungry graphics card later. The 750W fitted already covers a large step up. Memory upgrade to 32GB: available via live chat for the best price. Click or tap for more info Worth it if you stream, edit, or keep a lot open alongside a game. For gaming alone at 1080p, 16GB in dual channel is enough today. Two slots are free, so this is an addition rather than a replacement. Please ask on live chat rather than using the dropdown: the dropdown is priced for DDR5, this machine runs DDR4, and we can usually do considerably better. Storage upgrade to 2TB: available in the listing options below. Click or tap for more info Worth it if you keep more than a handful of large games installed at once, since modern installs regularly run past 100GB each. You can also leave it for later: the second M.2 slot is free, so a drive added in a year costs you nothing you have already bought. Braided cable extensions: choose them from the quick-add upgrades, or speak with us via live chat. Click or tap for more info More worthwhile on this series than on most of our machines, because the glass front and side put the cable runs on show and they are part of what you are looking at when the lights are on. Tell us your colour in the order notes and we fit them so the visible runs are done properly. Extended warranty: available in the listing options below. Anything else: speak with us via live chat.
