At 31 feet wide it puts a whole three-bedroom home on one level above the garage: kitchen, dining and living share one vaulted room across the front, and three glass sliders open it onto a deck that runs the full width of the house. The two secondary bedrooms sit at the back with a covered balcony of their own, so the kids or the guests have somewhere quiet to sit outside too. The ground floor is the feature that wins people over. Next to the two-car garage there is a 272 square foot room with its own overhead door, a full bath, a closet and a short counter, separated from the garage by a lock-off door. Rent it out, set up a workshop, put up family for the summer, or park a third car in it. You can change your mind years later and the house above never notices. Key Design Features A third bay that decides later: the 23' x 13' ground floor room has its own full bath, closet, counter and a 9' x 8' overhead door. Because it locks off from the garage, whoever uses it never has to walk through your house. Two decks, two jobs: the 31' x 10' front deck opens off the living room and the primary suite through three sliders; that is the one you have coffee on. Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a covered balcony at the rear, so nobody has to cross the living room to get some air. Vaulted living under skylights: the 18' 2" x 11' 10" eat-in kitchen, with island seating and a walk-in pantry, runs straight into a 14' 2" x 12' 6" living room under one vaulted ceiling. Skylights bring daylight into the living space and both secondary bedrooms, which is how a narrow house stays bright. A primary suite with the toilet behind its own door: 11' 6" x 12' 6", with a skylight, a walk-in closet, its own slider to the deck and a private bath. The laundry is right outside the suite, not down a flight of stairs. Two-car garage on the side: a 20' 2" x 25' 6" garage with two overhead doors on the side elevation and the flex bay's door beside them. Storage, utility and a row of cubbies sit under the stair off the heated lower entry, so sandy shoes and beach bags have a home before anyone climbs up.
