Idido G1 – Yirgacheffe | Ethiopia
Orange zest and bergamot on the nose, black tea through the body, and a floral honey sweetness that lingers. Idido is a small community a few kilometers outside the town of Yirga Chefe, in Ethiopia's Gedeo zone, at around 1,950 meters. Hundreds of smallholder farmers deliver cherry from their garden plots to the local washing station — Ethiopian heirloom varieties, many never formally catalogued, growing in the place Arabica coffee calls home. Fully washed and graded G1, Ethiopia's top export grade. This is washed Yirgacheffe at its most classic: clean, bright, and as delicate as a good cup of tea. Brew it as a pour over and let it cool a little — it keeps opening up. Producers: Smallholder farmers of Idido Region: Yirgacheffe, Gedeo, Ethiopia Variety: Ethiopian Heirloom Process: Washed Altitude: 1,950 MASL Roast: Light
