Oak Branch Diptych Botanical Bas-Relief

Rachel Dein returns to The Merchant’s Table with an exclusive Oak Branch Diptych, a hand-cast bas-relief celebrating the beauty and character of the mighty oak. Designed to hang side by side, the two reliefs capture a branch of oak complete with acorns, preserving the intricate forms and textures of the natural branch in plaster. Each relief is hand made in white plaster, with a fixing for hanging on the wall. The diptych is available in either white plaster or Rachel finishes with a subtle hand-painted clay wash. Displayed here with Steven James Will crag bud vases. Rachel Dein specialises in creating botanical art in plaster, a practice that evolved from the old tradition of nature printing, the technique of using the surface of a natural object to create a print.
