Pharmacotherapeutics in Critical Care

Pharmacotherapeutics plays a key role in successful management of Critically Ill patients. The Complex interplay of organ dysfunctions, extra corporeal supports, unique pathophysiology of critical illness and the need to use multiple pharmacological agents makes the choice of drugs in Intensive Care a challenging task. Information related to the drugs may readily be available in textbooks of pharmacology. However, integrating this into a background of critical illness and multiple drug interactions needs a focused simplified approach. The HICS team has felt the need for a concise and crisp compilation of information related to drugs encountered by an Intensivist working at odd hours.
