True Pre-Electronics Attenuation Our pad switch is a 16.5 dB attenuator placed between the capsule and the mic’s internal electronics. It cuts the level right at the capsule node, not at the output transformer or jack, for the cleanest possible headroom enhancement. Maximum Bass Retention Our oversized filter capacitor preserves the mic’s inherent low-frequency extension; the pad simply tames amplitude without rolling off warmth or punch. Capsule-Voltage Neutral Attenuation happens passively, with zero alteration of capsule bias voltage or polarizing conditions. User-Accessible Dip Switch A miniature toggle sits discreetly under the back bottom screen. Remove the screen and flip it by hand to engage or bypass. The faceplate beneath the screen is marked “–20 dB” (actual attenuation: –16.5 dB) and is available in black (default) or teal to match your mic finish. It reduces the signal level by 16.5 dB before it reaches the electronics stage, eliminating overload and distortion on exceptionally loud sources. The result is all the warmth you want, with none of the distortion. Ideal for close-miking kick drums, bass cabinets, brass instruments, or any source that pushes condenser limits.
