Agave ovatifolia
The Whales tongue Agave. This is a stunning specie with powdery blue leaves that form a tight rosette that will reach up to 1m in height and up to 2m width eventually. The leaf margins have small teeth that run along the edges and a strong terminal spike at the tips of each of the cupped leaves. It is said to be one of the best Agave for the UK climate being cold resistant as well as wet tolerant but a free draining soil is advised. This specie is fairly new to cultivation having been first named and described in 2002. All the Agave we sell have been propagated here at Penberth Plants from seed or off-sets 9cm pot
