Peach and Plum in Bloom Mirror

The name comes from a line by Bai Juyi (白居易), in which a revered master needs plant no flowers before his hall, for his peaches and plums, his students, already bloom across the world (令公桃李满天下，何用堂前更种花). This mirror takes its design from a Ming dynasty green jade inlay carved with twin magpies and peaches (青玉双鹊桃实纹嵌件) held in the Palace Museum.
