Oriental Shenanigan’s Die Box by Michael Baker, Bud West
Another great stage item from Michael Baker, better known as Shenanigan’s Die Box or Bud West’s Die Box and it was originally invented by Bud West and sold by Abbott’s c. 1971. This is even easier to perform than the standard Die box as you don’t even have to place the die back into the box, it all happens by magic 🙂 Michael has created a real beauty here and if you are a fan of his Die Boxes or his whole range of primarily parlor and stage effects you will not be disappointed. (Notice: This box was basically unused when I received it and in like new condition. Unfortunately some of the transfer from one side of the block came off overnight. It is only on the bottom of one side of the block and honestly not noticeable to the spectators but I wanted to bring your attention to it. Please see the last photo.) (Notice: use your own hat.) _EF A box which has two front doors. There one lid on top. Both doors and the lid are opened and the box is shown to be empty. A block is shown and placed in a hat or some other container. All the doors now closed. The magician says that he will cause the block to magically return to the box. The box is tipped to one side and a loud clunk is heard from the box. Both front doors are opened and the block can be seen in the box. Both doors are shut and magician says that the block will go back to the hat. Only one front door is opened to show the empty box. However, the audience can see a little of one side of the block behind the closed door. The magician closes the open door, tilts the box and then opens the other door. This sucker bit can continue a bit. Finally all doors are again opened to show the block vanished. It is removed from the hat.
