Union Pacific Big Boy and the Pittsburgh Skyline

The Union Pacific Big Boy steam locomotive passes through Pittsburgh on its journey across the United States. The Big Boy is truly a BEAST! It was completed in 1941 as one of only 25 ever built and is the only one that is still operational today. It is 133 ft long and weighs about 1.2 million pounds! The ground shook as it went by, as most trains do, but you could really feel the power of it! Now I know why thousands of people are lining up along the tracks all over the country to see it. It was pretty incredible to see this piece of history pass by just feet away!
