Gemblary Estate Washed Dried fruit, praline and deep caramel in a smooth, comforting cup. SOMA 02 comes from Gemblary Estate in the Shevaroy Hills of Yercaud, Tamil Nadu. The family has cared for the estate since 1977 and describes it as a fourth-generation operation focused on carefully cultivated Arabica. Coffee grows beneath natural shade provided by jackfruit, silver oak, mandarin orange and other native trees. During harvest, ripe cherries are selectively hand-picked and screened before processing. We have taken this washed coffee slightly deeper with a medium-dark roast, building body and caramelisation without burying its fruit. As a filter, SOMA begins with the mellow sweetness of dried apricot, moving into caramel and cocoa. It is clean and rounded rather than intensely acidic, with a soft fruit character that becomes sweeter as the cup cools. As espresso, it turns richer and more indulgent. Hazelnut praline brings a roasted nuttiness, dried fig contributes dark-fruit sweetness, and dark caramel gives the shot a long, syrupy finish. SOMA sits at the centre of the collection: deeper and more comforting than VYOM, but softer and more fruit-led than AGNI. It works beautifully as a straight espresso and remains distinct in milk.
