Initially created in the late 2520s for the UPE Navy, it underwent a redesign in 2950 to become a civilian model, incorporating contemporary components and focusing on enhanced utility. Originally designed for blockade operations and confrontations with sub-capital vessels, the Perseus is equipped with robust turrets and a torpedo launch bay. Key features Manned turrets: The Perseus is armed with two crewed turrets, each featuring two bespoke Size 8 ballistic cannons and two Size 3 gun hardpoints for improved fighter deterrence and defense Remote turrets: There is also two remote turrets for anti-fighter support, each with two Size 3 guns with one on the bridge for pilot control, and the other on the keel. Additionally, it features six Point Defense Turrets for extra protection against ordnance Torpedoes: The ship has two internal torpedo bays for up to forty Size 5 torpedoes, with ten in each auto-loader and an additional twenty in nearby racks. These bays can be replenished from the cargo bay, enhancing the ship's ordinance capacity. The pilot can launch torpedoes traditionally or via a control console in the front section Cargo Bay: The internal bay serves as the nexus of surface access, docking access and cargo access. The bay has been engineered to support a range of payloads with a 96 SCU cargo grid that can store sizes of up to 32-SCU containers. It can also accommodate vehicles like the Ursa or MTC, and when not in use, it serves as a basketball half-court with illuminated markings and an automatic unstowing hoop Crew areas: The Perseus features crew quarters for six, a separate Captain's Quarters, and a military-style galley to keep the crew well-fed and motivated. It also includes a comprehensive engineering bay for operations, maintenance, and repairs Personal item storage: There are personal lockers that can each hold up to 1000k uSCU of various items, with six located in the crew quarters and one located in the captains quarters. There are also suit lockers, six in the crew quarters and one in the captain's quarters, however as of Alpha 4.7.2 this functionality has yet to be implemented Weapon/Utility racks: In the crew quarters, there are FPS racks that can hold twelve Size 2-4 weapons and/or tools, twelve Size 1 pistols and/or medguns, as well as twelve Size 1 tools. In the Captains Quarters there are racks that can hold two Size 2-4 weapons and/or tools, two Size 1 pistols and/or medguns, as well as two Size 1 tools.
