This one is 5mm — noticeably thicker, heavier in the hand, and more resistant to splitting under everyday handling, for a small price premium. The 3mm bamboo version remains the better-priced option. Is there an oak version? Yes — the oak XL keyring is the same 200×80mm size in oak veneered MDF. There's also a smaller 90×25mm oak version if the oversized format is more than you need. Why does thickness matter for bamboo? Bamboo is strong along its fibres but can split if pressure is applied across the grain.
